Arrive at the airport/railway station and accept the greetings from SEASONZBLUE’S representative. NOW set the drive for capital city of Meghalaya, Shillong fondly known as ‘Scotland of east’. On the way to Shillong visit the famous Umiam lake, which is situated around 15 km before to the capital city of Meghalaya. The Umiam lake is blue in colour and clear as crystal, also the lake is about 220 sq km in radius and surrounded by the beautiful hillocks. The lake also represents the scenic beauty of Meghalaya which you will be going to explore and enjoy here in next few days. During summer season the lake looks lush and vibrant adorned by Gulmohar trees (delonix regia) in full blossom. Umaiam lake is commonly known as Barapani, is the best place for picnics and outings. If you are travelling with kids, then adjoining the Nehru park is a perfect place for them to spend few thrilling hrs enjoying a motorboat rides and other activities. After early breakfast start your drive for Cherrajuni which is situated about 60 kms from shilling, situated at the height of 4,869ft above the sea level. On the way to your destination Cherrapunji, the wettest place on earth you can vitness the heart walming beauties of nature the waterfalls, flowing down the clif of green, roaring like a monster but peaceful to the heart. Shillong Peak and Elephant Falls, named after an Elephant like stone at its foot, the Elephant Falls are amongst the most popular falls in the North-East. Cherrapunji is officially known as SHORA and is a must to be added to your bucketlist while exlopring Meghalaya. At Cherrapunji, visit Nohkalikai Falls (the tallest plunge waterfall in India), Doubble Deckker Living Root Bridge, Mawsmai Falls, Thang-kharang Park and Mawsmai cave which is one of the 100 odd limestone caves in Meghalaya. Return back to hotel in the evening. Night stay at shillong.
After breakfast drive to Mawsynram it is known for the Giant Stalagmite formation shaped into a “Shivalinga” and found inside a cave known locally as ‘Mawjymbuin’. A unique geological formation called “Symper Rock”. While coming back you can visit Shillong Peak (10Km from the city), Elephant falls and the museum. shillong reach in the evening. After breakfast start your day to explore ‘the Scotland of east’. visit Don Bosco Monument & Ward’s Lake. After that drive to Guwahati (100 kms, 3 hrs). Visit Mawphlang-Elephant falls, Shillong Peak, Smit Cathedral, Umiam Lake. Enroute visit ‘Kalakshetra’, a place where Assamese history and culture presents through Light and sound show.Arrive at hotel. Overnight stay will be at Guwahati.
Early morning get ready for special visit to Kamakhya Temple of Guwhati. The Kamakhya Temple also known as Kamrup-Kamakhya temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to the mother goddess Kamakhya. It is one of the oldest of the 51 Shakti Pithas. Situated on the Nilachal Hill in western part of Guwahati city in Assam. It is the main temple in a complex of individual temples dedicated to the ten Mahavidyas of Saktism : Kali, Tara, Sodashi, Bhuvaneshwari, Bhairavi, Chhinnamasta, Dhumavati, Bagalamuki, Matangi and Kamalatmika. After the visit proceed to Airport/Railway station for your forward journey with loads of memories of Meghalaya and its hill stations.
